On May 17th,In the history of Chennai LGBT community for first time community members observed International day against homophobia/transphobia. The members of Chennai LGBT community joined hands with a community based group called Chennai Dost to hold a candle light vigil. The main objective of this event is to create awareness about homosexuality and sensitize all the sections of the society in order to put an end to violence and discrimination against LGBT community. As a part of this event they have launched a campaign called "STOP HOMOPHOBIA/TRANSPHOBIA".
